Censorship[]

PBS Kids[]

  • (Season 1, Episode 14a, I Am Jackie Robinson)
    • The episode along with its sister segment stopped airing in August 2020 and was banned because PBS received numerous complaints from viewers that it whitewashed history, taught kids to make friends with racists, and compared disagreements between kids to systemic racism.
  • (Season 1, Episode 14b, I Am Anna Pavlova)
    • The episode was pulled from broadcast on August 2020 due to same reasons as "I Am Jackie Robinson."
  • (Season 1, Episode 25b, I Am Sacagawea)
    • In the original book, Sacagawea got pregnant at age 16 and conceived Jean-Baptiste Charbonneau during her expedition with Lewis and Clark, however, this was removed in the TV adaptation due to teen pregnancy being taboo.
