Australian Censorship[]
- Users under 16 are banned from having Twitter / X accounts in Australia as of December 10th, 2025.
Brazilian Censorship[]
- Twitter was temporarily banned in Brazil on August 30th, 2024, it was subject to penalty with huge fines for anyone that caught using X by using VPN, with up to 50,000 reals pars. however its ban was lifted on October 8th, 2024.
British Censorship (Threat)[]
On January 2026, following Grok that generates illegal pornography deepfakes, UK threatens to ban X if X do not regulate Grok, unlike in Indonesia, Malaysia and Turkey where they banned only Grok (for Turkey it was due to insulting Ataturk, Erdogan and religion by July 2025) X restrict Grok for premium users globally, and then, stop allowing Grok to generate deepfakes after UK banned generating AI deepfakes without consent by 12 January 2026 under Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, which the bill was made in June 2025.
European Censorship (EU, EEA and UK)[]
- In July 2025, to comply with Online Safety Act 2023 and EU Digital Services, X will require users in the EU, EEA and UK to use ID verify before accessing to NSFW material.

- X is banned in China.
Indonesian Censorship (Formerly)[]
- X was formerly blocked in Indonesia in 2023 because they thought that X came from prohibited websites that are like gambling or pornography, but after X said that it is a logo for social media, Indonesia lift the ban, in 2024, following where X began to allow Pornography and NSFW, Indonesia threats to ban X if X do not comply to ban Pornography in Indonesia. (Meaning that content that are flagged as NSFW like marking as spoiler would be invisible for Indonesian users)

- Like Australia, users under 16 are banned from having Twitter / X accounts as of January 1st, 2025.
Nepalese Censorship[]
- X was temporarily banned in Nepal on September 4th, 2025, however, 5 days later, it had its ban lifted.
Turkish Censorship (Formerly)[]
X was banned in Turkey on 21 March 2014 for two weeks.
Russian Censorship[]
Due to war in Ukraine, Russia blocked X.
Emoji Censorship[]
- The syringe emoji was redesigned to have its blood removed as of Twemoji 13.0.2 onwards.
