Tom and Jerry

Tom and Jerry is a series of American theatrical cartoon shorts that ran in the United States from 1940 to 1967. It was created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. When the shorts were broadcast on TV and released on home video, they were sometimes subjected to varying levels of censorship.

Their shorts had won seven Academy Awards for Best Animated Short Film. Walt Disney Productions had tied the series with their Silly Symphonies for winning the most awards in the category.
