The Adventures of Bayou Billy is an action video game that was developed and published by Konami for the Nintendo Entertainment System. The video game was released in June 1989. Due to Nintendo's strict family friendly policies, the game was censored.

Censorship[]

International censorship[]

  • The Game Over screen in the Japanese version shows Billy lying on the ground and stretching out his hand. In the international release, Billy was removed from the Game Over screen, so instead it is just the words "Game Over" and a black background.
  • The bad ending is not possible in the international version. In the Japanese version you can simply run away from the kidnapped lady when freed, this triggers the bad ending.

Japanese censorship[]

  • The cutscene that shows the kidnapped lady was modified for the international release. In the uncensored version, she is wearing a sports top and short shorts while in the international release she is wearing a dress.

Where to find it uncensored[]
