SpongeBob SquarePants is an American cartoon that was premiered on Nickelodeon on May 1, 1999, and it is still ongoing. The show has been censored around the world, including their original runs in the United States.

    1. This episode's plot was also completely different according to the 1996 pitch bible. It originally involved SpongeBob using a reef blower to clean his yard, only for it to become out of control causing SpongeBob to fly everywhere. Patrick comes out with a reef blower of his own and imitates SpongeBob. Because of the power of the two reef blowers, they erode the foundation of Squidward's house causing it to fall over with Squidward inside of it.
    2. An unused model of a dying Squidward was originally going to be added in this episode, but was cut due very likely to its graphic nature.

    1. The scene that shows Squidward naked (possibly in his bedroom) was cut due to concerns over nudity. However, SpongeBob was naked in both Ripped/Nature Pants, both in Season 1.

The Nautical Nonsense and Sponge Buddies DVD features storyboards of this episode and a deleted scene, in which SpongeBob does another activity "at night" as he delivers the mail to Floorboard Harry, a mysterious character who lived beneath the floorboards of the Krusty Krab, whose face was covered by one of the said floorboards, with a hole revealing an eye peeking out. Floorboard Harry was also originally going to be the one responsible for flickering the lights, not Nosferatu.

    1. All swear words were replaced with sound effects, most notably the dolphin noises that censor "bad word #11".
    2. According to the audio commentary, SpongeBob saying "Go (dolphin noise) yourself!" was changed to "Awww (dolphin noise)."

    1. The original plot idea for this episode involved Granny fattening Gary up to eat him, but that was changed due to it being too dark.
    2. According to the storyboard version, SpongeBob was originally going to visit Squidward's house and ask him if he could give him a hand with the bag of snail food.
    3. Originally Granny was going to be holding an axe, the axe was changed to a cookie tray due to the fact that Granny trying to eat Gary was changed to her mistaking Gary for Ms. Tuffsy.

    6. The scene where young Sheldon says, "Idiots," the test tubes are being held horizontally and some of the liquid is on the desk, this was most likely removed because the result of mixing the two chemicals is an explosion.
    7. The scene where young Sheldon says, "I'll show you," one of the test tubes is horizontal.
    8. When the chemicals explode, the exterior of the school is not shown, it is just an explosion cloud.
    9. After young Eugene says, "Buy things?" the image flips.
    10. When Stinky Burger is shown in a wide shot, there is writing on the order window door.
    11. Stinky's hair was originally a vertical block, instead of rounded hair.
    12. The scene where Stinky breaks up the fight about whether the kids respect or like him, he waves his arm vertically in the air, instead of in front of him.
    13. The second outfit that Stinky wears did not originally have the medallion.
    14. The scene where young Sheldon evilly laughs for the first time, it looks different than the final product.
    15. The scene where young Sheldon is exercising, his arms don't move.
    16. In the entire grand opening scene, Sheldon and Eugene have hats.

    1. According to the audio commentary, the scene where ether Gary gets milked or in the aftermath of being milked for the snail milk in the episode was cut, this was most likely removed because of it's disturbing nature and that Gary is a male snail, so it would not make sense.
  • Episode 6a
    1. According to the audio commentary, the scene where SpongeBob and Patrick print tickets for the Fiery Fist O' Pain online was cut, but in the audio commentary this came from the commentators laughed about it so it might of been a joke.
  • Episode 7a
    1. The scene of SpongeBob screaming at the idea of Patty being eaten isn't present in the animatic.
    2. The scene where there is a close-up of SpongeBob being ripped in half was cut.
    3. The scene where SpongeBob runs into the kitchen, with Squidward following was cut.

    3. The scene Sandy finds a clothing store, and she goes on it for clothes, but she was taken out by the owner saying that without clothes there's no service.

    1. The scene involving Squidward trying to break into the Krusty Krab, and he later ends up getting set on fire due to tripping a bucket full of gas. He later makes his way to the Patty Vault but not before another bucket of gas drops on him, reigniting the flames was cut. It has been suggested that the scene was cut either in order to avoid the possibility of children using gasoline and matches to play or in respect for the victims of the September 11, 2001 attacks, which took place almost a month before the episode aired. (Except for the Canadian and the South Korean airings, although it wasn't actually censored in recent U.S. airings).
