The following is a list of programs that have been censored on the Netflix streaming platform, including Netflix's own original content.

13 Reasons Why[]

  • Violence was toned down worldwide.

30 Rock[]

  • Four episodes have been banned due to perceived racism. (This was done at the request of the show's creator and done to every platform that streams the show.)

Bastard![]

  • Sexuality was toned down (the anime is censored when compared to the manga there is no uncensored version of the anime).

Beastars[]

  • Violence, language and sexuality are censored. (The anime is censored when compared to the manga there is no uncensored version of the anime.)

Breaking Bad[]

  • Uses the censored version for Season Three. As a result sexuality is toned down. (This censorship was originally done by AMC in order to get the TV-14 rating.)

CardCaptor Sakura[]

  • Sexuality was toned down in the English dub. (censored by Nelvana, not by Netflix)

Code Geass[]

  • Language was toned down in the English dub. (censored by Funimation, not by Netflix)

Death Note (anime)[]

  • Language was toned down in the English dub. (censored by Funimation, not by Netflix)

Fullmetal Alchemist[]

  • Language was toned down and some religious references were removed in the English dub. (censored by Aniplex America, not by Netflix)

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood[]

  • Language was toned down and some religious references were removed in the English dub. (censored by Funimation, not by Netflix)

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure[]

  • Graphic violent content and faces of underage characters (such as the 17-year-old protagonist of the Stardust Crusaders arc, Jotaro Kujo) smoking were blacked out when the anime was streamed in Japan.[1]

The Lovebirds[]

  • Sexuality was toned down. (This censorship is due to Netflix using the censored R rated cut instead of the uncensored Unrated edition)

Reign[]

  • Uses the censored version of episode 13, sexuality was toned down. (censored by CBS, not by Netflix.)

Road Trip[]

  • Sexuality was toned down. (This censorship is due to Netflix using the censored R rated cut instead of the uncensored unrated edition)

Sonic X[]

  • Sexuality, language and violence were toned down. (Note: It is using the censored 4KIDS English dub)

Sucker Punch[]

  • Sexuality and violence were toned down. (This censorship is due to Netflix using the censored PG-13 cut instead of the R rated Extended Edition)

Stranger Things[]

  • At the beginning of the Season 4 premiere, every episode had a disclaimer warning viewers that the following opening scene (which was filmed earlier) showed violence against children and might be upsetting to watch due to said season airing the same week as the Uvalde school shooting, which saw 21 casualties.

Total Drama Island[]

  • Language and sexuality were toned down. (Note: It is using the censored Cartoon Network edits.)

Total Drama Action[]

  • Nudity was censored. (Note: It was censored by the studio that produced the anime, not by Netflix)
