Adult Swim[]
Season Six[]
- Episode 8 ("Joust Like a Woman")
- The episode was edited out of airings on the network due to a throwaway line in which a teen boy calls the make-believe king at a Renaissance Fair "gay" after high-profile suicides of teens who were bullied for being gay in late 2010. However, the scene was reinstated on Adult Swim two years later.
Fox[]
Season Three[]
- "Revenge of the Lutefisk"
- This episode was not broadcast or rerun in the Denver area due to being about a church being buned down. The episode aired the same day as the Columbine shootings.
Most episodes about the Mega Lo Mart explosion and Buckley's death, as well one in which Bill is suicidally depressed, were not aired in reruns in that area for a while. As a matter of fact, two of the four remaining episodes of Season 3, specifically, the episode in which Peggy visits a death row inmate and the episode with Buckley's angel, were almost not broadcast in Denver at all. However, these episodes were permitted to air, and at least one of them proved helpful to a young woman who lost a friend in the shooting[1].
Season Six[]
- Episode 5 ("Luanne's Saga")
- The scene where Dale says "Fuck" was cut out.
Syndication[]
Season Eleven[]
- Episode 11 ("The Peggy Horror Picture Show")
- Some network TV stations which aired King of the Hill in syndication was pulled after the suicide of Leelah Alcorn, due to the episode containing information considered outdated, confusing and incorrect about transgender women, even though most of the people Peggy Hill meet are said to be drag queens (who are gay men who only dress as women as part of a stage show or performance). Peggy's new friend, Caroline, in the episode is stated to be a pre-op transgender woman, as her birth identiy is a man named Jamie, but she publicly dresses in drag, identifying as a woman, complete with being referred as "she" and "her".
