Gurren Lagann is a mecha anime television series animated by Gainax and co-produced by Aniplex and Konami. It was originally broadcast in Japan as Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann from April 1, 2007 to September 30, 2007. Due to Episode 6 being considered too risque to broadcast on Japanese television, it was heavily censored and this censored version was released worldwide. It wasn't until the release of the Director's Cut that a completely uncensored version of the show became available. When it aired on Sci-Fi in the United States, it used the censored version of episode 6 and sped up the show to include more ads. The Sci-Fi Asia dub also removed swear words. Crunchyroll streams the censored version of the show.
