Censorship

Fire Emblem Engage is a tactical RPG that was developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo. The video game was released for the Nintendo Switch on January 20, 2023.

Censorship[]

International censorship[]

(For now, these changes are only confirmed to affect the English translation; it is not yet known if other languages such as French or Spanish were censored.)

  • Any romantic references in dialogue were modified during localization to tone down sexuality and make character relationships more platonic. This affects nearly every single character that is depicted as a minor (under the age of 18), along with a number of older characters involved in those interactions. (Veyne is under the expectation that her supports are romance-focused.)[1]
  • Gendered language was removed (including "man" and "woman").

Where to find it uncensored[]

The original Japanese version is uncensored. There is also an uncensored English patch available online for those with CFW or a Switch emulator.
