Fifty Shades of Grey is an erotic romantic film that was produced by Focus Features, Michael De Luca Productions and Trigger Street Productions and it was distributed by Universal Pictures. The film was released on February 9, 2015. The theatrical release was somewhat censored worldwide (possibly due to rating concerns), an unrated edition would later release. Peacock streams the censored version of the film. Due to the film's graphic sexual content, it was banned in a number of countries. The version on the free French TV channel TF1 was censored in order to ensure the film could air on the channel. Protests from religious groups in the Philippines was followed by the film being censored to avoid being banned there.[1]
