Dragon Age: Inquisition is an action RPG video game that was developed by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts. The game was released on November 18, 2014. In 2018, it was included in a large list of the most popular games that were banned in Saudi Arabia after pre-teen suicides were associated with the "Blue Whale" challenge. Due to local laws in India the game was banned, and India's ban prevented the release of the game in Pakistan and Bangladesh as well.

Censorship[]

Dragon Age: Inquisition was among 47 games that were banned in Saudi Arabia due to unspecified violent content after a 12-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl had allegedly committed suicide after participating in an online "Blue Whale" challenge.[1] There was no reason or clarification given for why these 47 games were banned, and they are completely unrelated to the Blue Whale challenge, which is perpetuated over social media, not games.

The game was banned in India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh due to local obscenity laws that banned same-sex romance and gay characters. [2][3]
