Cruis'n USA is an arcade racing game that was developed by Midway Games and Williams. The game was originally released for arcades by Midway Games on December 3, 1996. The Nintendo 64 release was censored due to Nintendo's policies at the time (though by the time of its release, the ESRB has long been established making Nintendo's previous censorship policies redundant). This censored version was also released in Europe.

Censorship[]

International censorship[]

  • In the arcade version, the woman holding the trophy was wearing a bikini. In the censored version, she is now wearing a shirt.
  • In the arcade version, cars can hit animals, at which point the animal explodes into bloody pieces. In the Nintendo 64 version, the animals were removed.
  • In the tunnel of dollar bills in the arcade version, one of the people in the dollar bills looks like Hillary Clinton smoking a cigar. In the Nintendo 64 version, the face was changed to a picture of Benjamin Franklin, and the cigar was removed.
  • After the race though the states, the arcade version ends with Bill Clinton in a hot tub with half-naked women waiting for the player to join in. In the Nintendo 64 version, this was replaced with your car being on a pedestal.

Where to find it uncensored[]
