Collection of SaGa Final Fantasy Legend is a JRPG compilation that was developed and published by Square Enix. The game contains the three games The Final Fantasy Legend, Final Fantasy Legend II, and Final Fantasy Legend III. The games are further censored from their original releases.

Censorship[]

Japanese censorship[]

  • The item Lightsaber was renamed to remove the reference to the Star Wars weapon in SaGa 1, SaGa 2, and SaGa 3 (the Japanese releases of The Final Fantasy Legend, Final Fantasy Legend II, and Final Fantasy Legend III).[1]
  • The item Mobile Suit was censored to Mobile Machine and the enemy Beholder was censored to Death Eye in SaGa 1 to avoid potential trademark issues.[1]
  • The enemy Catgirl, Mouseman, and Honkon Bigata were renamed Catwoman, Mousefather, and Bigata respectively in SaGa 2.[1]
  • The mouse related characters Jijo, Jerry, Mighty, and Mickey were renamed Megamouse, Gigamouse, Teramouse, and Petamouse in SaGa 3 to remove references to trademarked character names.[2]
  • The enemies Kuidaore, Hagurebouzu, Komusou, and Zenpurist were renamed to Clown, Cursed Person, Cursed Leader, and Cursed Master respectively in SaGa 3.[2]

International Censorship[]

  • As in the original The Final Fantasy Legend, God was changed to "the Creator" to avoid references to the Christian religion.
  • Due to potential trademark problems with the Red Bull drink brand, the Redbull species was renamed to Redhorn.[3]
  • Due to potential trademark problems with the Colt weapons manufacturer, the item "Colt" was genericized to "pistol".[3]
  • A room in the Skyscraper that was shaped like a Nazi imagery was changed in shape.[4]
  • As in the original Final Fantasy Legend II, references to opium was censored to bananas to avoid drug references.
  • A soldier in Final Fantasy Legend II has his initials "SS" replaced with "SF" to remove a reference to German WW2 soldiers.[3]
  • An item titled "N. Bomb" was changed to "A. Bomb."[3]
  • The "Atomic power plant" was renamed to just "power plant."[3]
  • As in the original Final Fantasy Legend III, the word "Holy" was renamed "White".

Where to find it uncensored[]

The original Japanese versions of the game are uncensored. No version of the Collection of SaGa Final Fantasy Legend is uncensored.
