Carl Squared (stylized as Carl²) is a Canadian animated series, which explores what would happen if a teenager had a clone. The concept of the cartoon is a mixture of biological studies and normal teenage life. When the series was released by MBC3 in the Middle East as كارل وكارل ("Carl and Carl"), it was subject to censorship.

Arabic censorship[]

Romance before marriage is banned in the Middle East due to religious reasons, so the scene where Carl falls in love with Skye from his school during the opening intro was replaced with the following scenes:

  • A neighbor spying on Carl's house and noticing two Carls in his living room.
  • Carl's clone C2 combing his hair.
  • Carl sleeping while his clone, C2 plays the drums.
  • Carl skateboarding.
