Censorship[]

International censorship[]

  • Blood effects were toned down when compared to the original game and the HD Edition.
  • Death cries were mostly removed due to a bug.
  • The El Dorado campaign was removed and replaced by the Pachacuti campaign, without an official explanation from the developers. Some speculate that it was due to one of the enemy factions in the fourth and final scenario "The Cannibals" being called "Los Negros". However, it was pointed out by many gamers that it was actually removed due to the former campaign being fantasy-like (in comparison to the other campaigns in the game and Pachacuti campaign was based historical events, El Dorado was based off a legend reported to the Spanish conquistadores), that its gameplay was said to be "RPG-like" and that the fact that the Spanish civilization in the game already had the El Cid campaign.
  • Corpses of dead units no longer decompose and blood is no longer on corpses.
  • The Kaesong campaign was removed due to "time constraints"[1].
  • The Saxon Revolt camapign was removed due to it covering the Massacre of Verden.
